Easy Healthy Smoothie Recipe For A Busy Schedule
When I need a quick healthy snack, I tend to make a smoothie. A smoothie is especially nice after an exercise session as a refreshingly cool hydration full of vitamins and protein. My favorite smoothie involves a combination of blueberries and lavender with creamy protein of Greek yogurt. If you are looking for a quick, yet calming, smoothie recipe for your busy weekday, here you go:
Recipe
- Blueberries 1cup or half of smoothie ingredients
- (Hot water if blueberries are frozen—see “Directions” below)
- Ground lavender half teaspoon
- Plain non-fat Greek Yogurt 3/4 cup
- Milk 1/8 cup approximately
- Honey or Maple Syrup for sweetener optional
Extra Notes
This recipe is designed to make a 13.5 ounce amount. You can adjust the recipe’s measurements to fit your needs. Based on the specific ingredients I use and their amounts, I estimate that this size smoothie yields 224.75 calories. This is calculated without any additional sweetener such as syrup or honey.
Directions
Pour the blueberries into the blender. If you are using frozen blueberries, as I often do, I recommend pouring in some hot water to almost cover the blueberries to warm them enough for the blender blades. Then add the ground lavender followed by the yogurt. The order of the lavender and yogurt is not too important, but if you are indeed using the hot water the lavender first will start infusing with the water, which may give slightly more flavor. After that, fill in whatever space you have left with the milk, which should equal approximately an eighth cup in total. You may need to nudge the yogurt over to fill the spaces within the blender. You are now ready to blend your smoothie!
If you would like additional sweetener, I would recommend adding a dash of honey or maple syrup as you like.

Of course, please feel free to take this basic recipe and adjust it to whatever type of smoothie you like! The key is keeping the balance of the blueberries and the lavender taste regardless of the other ingredients.
